# Guante Bridge

## What it is

Guante Bridge is a small community project that pools donations to sponsor adoption fees for rescued street dogs. It was created in memory of Guante, a street dog from La Paz, Mexico, who was rescued by Street Dog Hero and lived in Portland, Oregon until February 2026.

The idea is simple: community members donate $5 or $10. When enough is raised to cover an adoption fee, the next street dog waiting for a home gets that fee sponsored through Street Dog Hero.

## Who it is for

People who love dogs, care about rescue animals, or want to contribute something small that has a direct and trackable result.

## What has been accomplished

Two adoption fees have been sponsored since the project launched in early 2025:

1. Guante - the founding dog
2. Fergie - a young dog rescued from outside Puerto Vallarta with a healed hip injury
